Background:

This client needed a new platform that would improve the experience of parking permitting and monitoring for multi-family communities. The current process of issuing physical permits was outdated and time-consuming for property managers, residents and guests alike. Due to the complex workflow needs of multiple user types, the system needed to be designed as four separate applications that would interact with each other seamlessly and facilitate data and operational tasks accordingly.

Designing the new platform was a complex undertaking as multiple user types needed to interact with each other seamlessly across four different applications. Our goal was to develop a consumer-facing web and progressive web application that would facilitate vehicle registration and permit purchasing at a specific property, an application for property managers to manage vehicles, permits, and towing, an application for towing partners to be able to monitor vehicle compliance and execute tows at a specific property, and an application for business users to configure and manage customer parking programs.

Challenge:

Process:

To address this challenge, I began by diagramming and developing key user flows and information architecture to provide a comprehensive understanding of the interactions between different user types and applications.

We also developed a cohesive, web-accessible bootstrap design system to ensure consistency throughout the different platforms and device types.

User stories were generated and translated into low-to-high fidelity wireframes, gathering and incorporating feedback from the client. We also created a detailed roadmap to plan out the development process and provide feature enhancement recommendations post-launch, ensuring that the platform was continuously improved and tailored to meet the evolving needs of the users and stakeholders.

Our team led a complex project that resulted in the creation of four web and mobile applications, facilitating parking permit and monitoring for multi-family communities. Our holistic design system ensured consistency and a seamless user experience across all applications, while user research allowed us to gather feedback and translate it into actionable user stories and user flows. By providing a detailed roadmap and aligning the project with business objectives and user-centered design principles, we were able to deliver a high-quality digital product that met the evolving needs of users and stakeholders. Our team's dedication to collaboration and attention to detail allowed us to exceed expectations and deliver a successful product.
